2017 Summer Program Offerings
EPGBA in partnership with EPHS Varsity Coach Faith Johnson Patterson will offer various programs this summer for girls to continue developing their basketball and athletic skills. Descriptions of each program are provided below.
Eagle's Summer Basketball Camp
Grades 1-4 $75; Grades 5-8 $85
Registration: Now-May 26th
Eagle Camp is for all players entering grades 1-8 in the 2017-18 school year who enjoy playing basketball at any level. This is a fun-filled camp for the younger grades, mixing individual and group fundamental instruction with games and competitions. For the older grades, the camp will still be a fun atmosphere, but will be structured in a more competitive format with core fundamentals, scrimmaging and competitions as well. Players will have the opportunity to work with the Eden Prairie Lady Eagles HS players and various coaches from the HS staff as well. All participants will receive a t-shirt if registered prior to the registration deadline of May 26th. The camp will take place in the EPHS Main Gym and Activity Center.
This camp will be held June 12-15 (Monday-Thursday) at the following times:
Grades 1-2: 8:00-9:30 am
Grades 3-4: 9:30-11:00 am
Grades 5-6: 12-1:30 pm
Grades 7-8: 1:30-3:00 pm
Elite Basketball Skills, IQ, Strength & Conditioning Training
16 – 90 minute sessions (specific dates below)
Grades 3-12 $295
Registration: Now-April 30th
This training will be offered to girls entering grades 3-12 in the 2017-18 school year and ~3 days per week, for 5 weeks throughout the summer. Sessions will run for 90 minutes focusing on player conditioning, shooting, passing, dribbling, foot work, offensive and defensive fundamentals. This training is designed for the basketball player who wants to improve her basketball skills, IQ and willing to condition and train at a higher level. Girls will participate in sessions at their grade level. If not enough girls are registered at each grade level, we will combine grades where necessary. Training for these clinics will be led by Rakim Anim “Coach Roc” and DJ Phillips “Coach DJ”.

Grades 3-4: 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
Grades 5-7: 1:00 PM–2:30 PM
Grades 8-12: 2:30 PM–4:00 PM
Coach Roc has a BA in Exercise Science and a MA in Kinesiology. He began his training career at Velocity and Net Gain Sports. Since then he has coached the HS level, trainer assistant for the Gopher Women’s Basketball team and currently trains the Champlin Park and Osseo boys’ basketball team. He is also an individual personal trainer and physical therapist for athletes after injury. He played basketball at Champlin Park High School.
Coach DJ was the starting point guard for Osseo high school and helped lead his team to the Minnesota boys basketball State Tournament. He went on to play at St. Cloud State. He began his training career as a personal trainer for several athletes on the St. Cloud Men’s Basketball team and has elevated to several NBA players including Boston Celtic’s Kelly Olynk, former Portland Trailblazer Sam Bower (currently overseas professional), and Nate Walters, former Milwaukee Buck. He also trains the Foley boys, girls and Champlin Park boys basketball team.
Both gentlemen have a vast knowledge of the game and have worked with both boys and girls of all ages. For the past 2 years, they have partnered to host an Elite skills camp at Velocity Sports and with various high schools. Normally they charge $30 per session per person but have agreed to work with EPGBA (at a lower cost) to help us reach a higher level for our program. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to become a better, stronger and smarter basketball player.
Post Guard Academy Camp
Grades 3-12 $150
Registration: Now-July 21st
Featuring Doug Lemon “Coach Doug” and Rob Lark "Coach Rob"
This camp will be offered to girls entering grades 3-12 in the 2016-17 school year. The Camp focuses on the ins and out of the point guard and post position, basketball IQ, one on one moves, ball handling passing, court awareness, post defense, offensive moves and more! Girls will participate in sessions at their grade level. If not enough girls are registered at each grade level, we will combine grades where necessary. Please note that your daughter does not need to be a "point guard" to attend this camp.
Camp will be held at the EPHS Activity Center or Main Gym on the following dates:
Grades 3-6: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Grades 7-12: 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Coach Doug has over 15 years of coaching and training experience. He played basketball at DeLaSalle high school for one the State’s most great basketball in minds, Coach Dave Thorson. Coach Doug has assisted at the high school level for both boys’ and girls’ basketball at power houses such as; DeLaSalle, Minneapolis North and Cooper high school. He has been a part of six State Championships as a coach and a player. He specializes in player development, X’ and O’s and has a very detailed teaching style that relates to all levels and gender. We’re excited to have an opportunity to gain from both of these Coach’s experience and knowledge.
Coach Rob has coached high school boys and girls basketball for several years including AAU, High School and Travel programs. Coach Rob played basketball at Osseo high school. He specializes in motivating and making kids better. His unique style adds humor, passion and a winning mindset.
Head Coach Faith Johnson Patterson (Coach Johnson) will be around all activities assisting and monitoring events. Please feel free to introduce yourself to her!
Summer Shooting-Dribble Club
June 1 - Sept 15
Grades 3-8 - Free
Registration: Now-June 10th
This summer program designed to motivate and assist players in developing their dribbling and shooting skills. The Club is open to both travel and in-house players, and runs from June 1 to September 15, 2017. Players must track their MADE baskets and dribbling minutes by downloading a Tracking Sheet from the EPGBA website and turn in your progress every month. Players will be required to register on our website. Girls achieving this goal will be recognized during half time at a girls HS Home Varsity game (typically Youth Night).
