2016 Summer Program Offerings

EPGBA in partnership with EPHS Varsity Coach Faith Johnson Patterson and her staff, will offer various programs this summer for girls to continue developing their basketball and athletic skills.  There is a little something for everyone and descriptions of each program are provided below.

Eagle Basketball Summer Camp

Eagle Camp is for all players entering grades 1-8 in the 2016-17 school year who enjoy playing basketball at any level.  This is a fun-filled camp for the younger grades, mixing individual and group fundamental instruction with games and competitions.  For the older grades, the camp will still be a fun atmosphere, but will be structured in a more competitive format with core fundamentals, scrimmaging and competitions as well. Players will have the opportunity to work with the Eden Prairie Lady Eagles HS players and various coaches from the HS staff as well.  All participants will receive a t-shirt if registered prior to the registration deadline of June 1st.  The camp will take place in the EPHS Main Gym and Activity Center.

This camp will be held June 13-16 (Monday-Thursday) at the following times:

Grades 1-2, 8:00-9:30 am

Grades 3-4, 9:30-11:00 am

Grades 5-6, 12-1:30 pm

Grades 7-8, 1:30-3:00 pm

Individual Clinics

This clinic format will be offered to girls entering grades 3-12 in the 2016-17 school year.   The clinics will be offered 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, with the exception of one Monday), for 6 weeks throughout the summer, with players attending 5 of the 6 weeks depending on the schedule for their grade.  Sessions will run for 75 minutes and include individual player conditioning, shooting, passing, dribbling, offensive and defensive fundamentals.  These clinics are designed for the more serious basketball player who wants to improve her individual skills and willing to condition and train at a higher level.  Players are not required to attend all 15 sessions - they should attend what works with the rest of their summer schedule - and hopefully can make a majority of the sessions.  Girls will participate in training at their grade level.  If not enough girls are registered at each grade level, then we will combine grades where necessary. Training for these clinics will be led by Tony Wilson (Owner of local strength, conditioning and basketball training company, Optimum Performance) and Daria Frazier (EPHS Varsity Girls' Coach), along with Chad Flies and Denny Tape, EPGBA Coaching & Player Development Directors.

Post Player & Point Guard Camps

These camps will be offered to girls entering grades 5-12 in the 2016-17 school year.  Each camp will offer 5 sessions, held on Sunday evenings. The camps run simultaneously, so players should not enroll in both camps. The camps will be run by Coach Faith Johnson Patterson and Coach John Patterson (EPHS Varsity Girls' Assistant Coach).   Each session will run for 2 hours and will focus on specific skills and drills needed to play at each of these positions, including video review and classroom instruction.  Please note that your daughter does not need to be a "point guard" or "post player" to attend these camps.

Camps will be held at the EPHS Activity Center or Main Gym on the following dates:

June 19, 26

July 10, 17, 31

Grades 5-12, 6-8 pm

10,000 Shot Club
This is our off-season program designed to motivate and assist players in developing their shooting skills.  The Club is open to both travel and in-house players, and runs from May 1 to September 30, 2016.  Players will track their MADE baskets by downloading a Tracking Sheet from the EPGBA website and turn in your progress every month.  Players will be required to register on our website.  Girls achieving this goal will be recognized at a girls HS Varsity game (typically Youth Night held in January).

Eagle Eye Shooting Challenge
This is our off-season program designed to motivate girls to become more accurate and consistent shooters.   The Challenge is open to both travel and in-house players, and runs from May 1 to September 30, 2016.  There are different shooting workouts based on the Grade Level the player is entering for the 2016-2017 school year.  The workouts provide players with a plan they will follow requiring a certain number of MADE baskets at various spots on the court.  Players will download each workout sheet from the EPGBA website to track progress.  Players will be required to register on our website, and email their number of sessions shot at the end of each month. Girls achieving this goal will be recognized at a girls HS varsity game (typically Youth Night held in January).
