Program Focus The purpose of the 9th-12th grade program is to provide a fun and competitive environment for girls to continue playing basketball. An end of season tournament will be included as part of the scheduled games. The program coordinates games with high school girls from the Burnsville and Bloomington Athletic Associations. The program is open to high school students who live in Eden Prairie, or attend school in Eden Prairie.
Participants will practice Wednesday nights (optional) and play games on Sunday afternoons. All practices & games will be held at Eden Prairie High School.
Teams Teams are formed by the players, or by the league commissioner if needed. Each team is expected to have an adult coach before the start of league play. A coach does not have to be a parent.
The season typically runs from mid December through the first week of March.
Coaches/Volunteer Opportunities For the EPGBA to run a successful basketball program, we need volunteers for head coaches and assistant coaches. If you have a basic knowledge and love of the game, and enjoy working with teenagers, you are just who we are looking for. Coaching manuals and general practice schedules, outlining the basic skills relevant for your players will be provided for you to work from.
Each player will receive a basketball jersey. Players should bring their own basketball to practices/games.
