EPGBA Spring basketball program is designed to give 3rd-8th grade players who live and/or attend school in Eden Prairie, the opportunity to further develop their basketball skills after completion of the winter season along with giving In-House players a chance to experience travel basketball. The season typically begins Mid-March and ends Mid-May/June depending on team’s decision.
All girls planning to play spring ball must be registered and paid for in EPGBA's system by the registration deadline.
Spring fees for the 2017 Season = $175 (No refunds once practices start)
Paid Coach fee = $75 (To be collected at the first practice, if player is placed on a team with a paid coach)
Fees cover the court rental fees for practices and tournament entry fees. If there are not enough girls in a grade to field a team, you will receive a full refund.
There will not be a formal player evaluation process for grades 4-8. Player evaluations from fall/winter league will be used along with input from coaches and coaching directors were needed.
3rd Grade players will be evaluated during the first week of practices. These evaluations will be performed by the coaches assigned to 3rd grade.
The number of teams and number of players per team will be determined by the number of registered players, available coaches and player availability of tournaments. No Pre-formed teams are not allowed.
For 3rd grade, if enough players are evaluated as being ready for travel, a team will be formed of those players. The remaining players will participate in a skills development league.
Players will be expected to wear their uniform from the current season.
Teams will practice on average, 2 times per week, for 90 minutes. Practice times and days of the week will vary among each team. Majority of practices are held at EPHS during the week. Teams will not have any scheduled practices over Eden Prairie Spring Break. All players are expected to bring their own basketball to practice.
On average teams will participate 3 weekend tournaments hosted by MYAS throughout the season. Tournaments are scheduled throughout the metro area.
