EPGBA applications for Travel Coaches

Applications for Travel Coaches
Now Being Accepted for the Upcoming 2019-20 Season

The Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Association is seeking individuals interested in serving as Head Coaches for grades 4 through 8 during the 2019-20 travel basketball season.  Individuals will be need to complete an application detailing their basketball backgrounds and prior coaching experience.  Questions may be directed to Shari, Coach Selection Coordinator, at 

Applications must be received prior to July 15th to be considered for a head coaching position.  EPGBA will conduct interviews in mid July thru mid August to determine available coaches for each team.  Head Coaches will be assigned prior to tryouts and will be part of the Tryout Team Formation Committee based on EPGBA's Travel Tryout Policy in September.

EPGBA 27th Tip-off Tournament

27th Annual Tip-off Tournament

EPGBA will be hosting its 27th annual tournament on November 2-3, 2019.  The EP Tip Off Tournament is considered one of the premier girls' tournaments offered early in the winter travel season. Eden Prairie High School, with 9 courts available, is where all teams will play their games.  We guarantee each team 3 games, with certified officials, certified medical staff, full concessions, food vendors and a fun retail vendor or two.

Grades 4-8
A, B and C Divisions
$250 per team (3 games guaranteed) 
Registration Deadline:  October 1st

Special Discount for registrations of 5 or more teams by Sept 1st - $225 per team

Eagle Basketball Youth Camp
June 10-13th
Grades 1-8* $110


EP Varsity Coach Ellen Wiese, along with some of her high school players will run the EP youth camp for grades 1-8* from June 10-13th.  The younger grades will be taught basic fundamentals in a fun-filled environment with camps and competitions. The older grade sessions will be structured more to a high school practice with emphasis on fundamental skill development. 
 

Monday & Wednesday 
Grades 1-4: 9:00 am -10:30 am
Grade 5/6:  10:30 am -12:00 pm 
Grades 7/8:  12:15 pm -1:45 pm

Tuesday & Thursday
Grades 1-4:  10:00 am - 11:30 am
Grade 5/6:  11:45 am - 1:15 pm
Grades 7/8:  1:15 pm - 2:45 pm 



Summer Clinics
Grades 4-8* $170

20 Player Limit per age group

This training is designed to give players in grades 4-8 that live or attend school in Eden Prairie the opportunity to focus on enhancing their basketball skills during the summer.  Sessions will run approximately 2 days per week, for 7 weeks throughout the summer (Click here for specific dates/times).  Session are 75-90 minutes focusing on player conditioning, shooting, passing, dribbling, foot work, offensive and defensive fundamentals. This training is designed for the basketball player who wants to improve her basketball skills and vocabulary. Training for these clinics will be led by Girls Varsity Coach Ellen Wiese and staff.


Summer Shooting-Dribbling Challenge
June 1 - Sept 15
Grades 3-8* - Free

This summer program is designed to motivate and assist players in developing their dribbling and shooting skills. The Challenge is open to both travel and in-house players and runs from June 1 to September 15.

Grade-level goals have been established for both MADE baskets and dribbling minutes.  Players that meet the grade level or 10,000 shots and 1,000 dribbling minutes will recongized during halft-time at Girls Varsity game. 

Players will track their baskets and dribbling minutes by downloading this Tracking Sheet and submitting their progress monthly. Reminders will be sent to trigger the monthly submissions and a leaderboard will be posted on the EPGBA website at the close of each month.

The Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Association (EPGBA) is a member of Trusted Coaches which is an online youth coach's training/educational program.  Coaches will receive first-aid training, concussion instruction, a nationwide criminal background check and be certified in the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach® character education course. Upon completion, coaches are issued a Trusted Coach Membership Card and placed on the Trusted Coaches National Registry.
