The EPGBA 2014-15 Travel season gets underway in 6 weeks! In order to assure that we are able to field travel teams at all grade levels (4-8th), we are looking for parents to serve as head and assistance coaches. If you have a basic knowledge of basketball rules and fundamentals, are able to teach and motivate players to develop specific basketball and relationship skills, and have good communication skills, WE NEED YOU! If you coached with us last season and are interested in coaching again this season, you will need to complete a new application.
Coaching positions are for travel division grades 4-8. If your daughter makes a travel team, and you'd like to be considered for a head or assistant coaching position on that team, please submit an application.
EPGBA is also taking applications for paid travel coaches for the 2014-2015 season. Paid coaching positions are for girls grades 5-8. Coaching salaries are based on experience and quality of prior coaching positions. If you know of someone that may be interested in a paid coaching position, please forward this message onto them.
To apply for a coaching position, please complete the application form on our website at www.epgba.org under the "Coaches' Corner" tab, or by clicking on the link below.
North Tartan will be hosting their annual Meltdown Tournament July 24-26 at Hopkins Lindbergh Center and Eden Prairie High School. The EPHS varsity girls basketball program has asked EPGBA to assist them with a great opportunity to raise funds for the varsity program. Volunteers are needed to work the clock and keep the official scorebook for all games to be held on July 24 & 25th. These are paid positions, and all money earned will be donated to the EPHS varsity girls program. Assistance is also needed for selling concessions (volunteers should be 6th grade or older). If you are in town next week, please consider helping support the varsity program by volunteering your time to making the tournament a success.
Specific to the volunteer positions, workers should be at least 7th or 8th grade, be familiar with basketball, a general understanding of the rules, and how to work the clock or keep the book. Tournament organizers are especially looking for parent/adult volunteers and will train on how to work the clock and keep book. Consider signing up with your daughter and working a few games together! Anyone is welcome to help! This is a great opportunity for HS students to receive volunteers hours as well, so please share this opportunity with others you know would be interested.
